Different Tracks 2020 |
LyricsDIFFERENT TRACKS© 2013 Lyrics & Music by Bob Bentley Verse One: Think you know by now, that we should be moving on Though we're still the best of friends, the romance has all gone I've known you long enough to tell, that you're trying to pretend But you don't want to be the one Verse Two: Every day I see that look, I feel it deep inside We are trying very hard, not to hurt each other's pride I really think that you deserve, a better life than this But I don't want to be the one.... Chorus: To, walk away babe, free as a bird Time to make a brand new life out in the big wide world Walk away babe, don't look back We will still be best of friends, on our different tracks Verse Three: No point in putting on this show, when no one really gains Don't want to be the one to leave, so we go on just the same It's not that we don't get along, but we are not in love Time that one of us was strong... Chorus: Walk away babe, free as a bird Time to make a brand new life, out in the big wide world Walk away babe, don't look back We can still be best of friends, on our different tracks Walk away..... Instrumental break Verse Four: We've got to take a chance, on what becomes of us in time But I wish you all the best, and I'm sure we'll be fine Heaven knows that you deserve, much more than we have now But I don't want to be the one... Chorus: To walk away babe, free as a bird Time to make a brand new life, out in the big wide world Walk away babe, don't look back We can still be the best of friends, on our different track Walk away babe, free as a bird Time to make a brand new life, out in the big wide world Walk away babe, please don't look back We can still be the very best of friends, on our different tracks Walk away..... |
Short Song Description: Although still friends, they are not in love. Time to move on. |
Long Song Description: Although still friends, they are not in love. Neither wants to be the one to suggest it's time to go their separate ways, their different tracks. |
Story Behind the Song: First recorded over 20 years ago, this is one of my favorite songs. It was suggested to me many moons ago that the original version was too fast and the emotions would come across better if slower. I have remixed the track and re-recorded the guitar parts to bring this song up to date. |
